    Default egr blanking plate

im in the process of changing my inlet manifold and form looking at the state of the part the egr valve bolts to its quite clear where the crud is coming from! I have heard good things about blanking off the egr valve but cant seem to find the blanking plates anywhere!

does anyone know where i can get them from?

    cheers

Or just make your own from some aluminium plate or even a coke can that's what I done cut around the gasket to get the shape and I drilled just a 5.5mm hole in the middle and I have no eml on and runs perfect it cost me nothing and it's alot more restrictive than the 4holes in the fait ones

Also alot of the crud comes from the oil breather pipe that feeds back into the manifold which is where all the oil sludge build up comes from

I made one from 1mm stainless but it was hard work to cut & drill so I think the aluminium or coke can is the way to go.

I started with with an 8mm hole but got both eml lights coming on intermittently but after drilling it out to 10mm all is well - every engine seems to want something different but most agree that the CDTi runs better with blanking fitted

Euro emissions, purely so they can release the car, other than that, sweet F.A !!!

If only the CDTi allowed us to remove it and blank it like the BMW units can

Quick one, IF I unpluged the EGR Valve, naturally it would throw a wobbly and illumintate the EML....apart from that, should I see any difference, will it go into Limp Mode?

Im just thinking, IF I try to drive without it connected, surely this shoudl determine if the EGR is scrooged or not?

mine clogged completely and went into limp mode so surely blanking it off all together is going to do the same??? does it effect fuel or performance to the car blanking it off?
