    Hey everyone this is my first post to the forum and i have been wondering what is the difference between the X20DTH and Y20DTH engines ?

    Isn't the X20DTH the 2.0ltr Vec B 16v engine, whereas Y20DTH is the 2.0ltr Vec C 16v engine, with mechanical difference i'm not 100%

    May have been an early Vectra 'B' unit, but as far as I know, later 'B's were fitted with the same Y20DTH (2.0 DTI) engine as the Vec 'C'. The Y20DTH was also fitted to the Astra Mk. 4.

    The 'X20' engine is Euro 2 compliant, the 'Y20' engine in Euro 3 compliant.

    Pretty sure it's all down to the fuel pumps and as John K said euro compliances. The newer ones have the hybrid ecu's on the pump.

    Z rated engines are +2001 and better on fuel and give off lower emiisions!

    Am i right in thinking that it was the hybrid ECU's that were harder to be remapped ?
