Egr question?

Just followed the cleaning egr and boost sensor how2 with no problems, I had no issues with the car just wanted to check the valve to make sure before a long drive to France. My signum has done 35000 miles on a 56 plate and the egr solenoid inside looked like new. The car is a network Q demo car which I've only had for 1 year, and there's no mention of the egr being replaced in the service history. Is there any way to know if it's been replaced by the dealers? I did notice a blob of blue paint on the case of the valve.

EGR is not a service item, so therefore won't be in the service record as being changed. It's an engine component and therefore would only be renewed if it had failed
