Default 1.9 CDTI (either flavour) running on its own?

IS there a way to make the 1.9 CDTI work without the rest of the car... ie in another car that it wasnt intended for.

I already have an electronic throttle pedal so thats about 5% of the battle done lol.

How much CAN(no not bus ) crap needs to be obtained to keep it happy?

You'll need the ecu, the key reader, the key, the loom, the throttle pedal, dont think there's anything else, what you putting it in out of interest?

so nothing other than directly engine related items are needed to make either the 120 or 150 run (add in the immo stuff but we all know about that ) ?

What (manual) gearbox do they use?

This is sounding much more positive

ahh crap, they are both horrificly expensive

Mind you, could just get a catB/C from a salvage yard and nick the engine + box then strip the rest.

I'm thinking of doing something very very dirty and wrong to a small plastic car vauxhall 'made' lol

    lol **** off

will an F23 mate to the 1.9 ?
they can take the torque (I dont believe a word about the F number = NM/10 as the F10 and F13 boxes are IDENTICLE in terms of componentry (aside from the 4/5spd version) so how can the F13 take 30NM more torque?, similar for the F16 and F20..) and means no faffing with driveshafts to get the M32 or F40 in lol

not sure on the gearbox's, not really my area.... best one to ask/answer would be benny.. You'd most probably need the CIM (immo circuit(but I'm sure you could add that in to the CAN somewhere so it can chat to the engine and let it run.

but on the whole, it shouldnt care that there is no BCM, radio, anything else other than immo on the CAN lines ?

What about vehicle speed, does that come in over CAN from the ABS unit or is it hardwired in?
