    Default intake self mod pics

hi all i have done a diy intake mod today

i have driled holes right infront of the intake duct behind the grille to let the intake have a ram air effect i will let you know my findings and let me know what you think and your opinions

i am hoping it will give a more direct cold air feed and less warm air and hopefully a more intake sound

opinions welcome once the bonnet is closed you cant see it unless you look under the lip

Good idea, where does the normal entry for the air induction hose start? Never looked when I took mine apart? Probably not head on to the wind lol

Where I have the cut out the orginal air intake is just behind that hole I have cut

So it's getting a direct cold air feed now well near enough combined with the ram effect of forward speed

I don't know if any one else agrees but I'd be careful when opening up ya intakes. you don't want to be sucking up water on heavy rainy days. Yes you can say its got to get passed the air filter but.... Hydro-lock....bang! Engine dead.

Yea, diesel intakes are blocked for a reason, Hydraulic Lock is not something you want LOL. The ram affect doesn't do anything trust me. Nutron put a Leaf blower on his intake and took it on a Rolling road before and after and it did nothing.

i just had to put a new air box on my cdti 150 cos some donut had drilled 40 holes in it! It made an awfull noise and to be honest now ive put a new one in the car seems to start better and probably a bit quicker acceleration. I wouldnt bother with these air box mods ive heard just a k&n panel filter is the way forward!
