Would anyone recommend weather I should use fully synthetic or semi and what viscosity?

I use 5 30 fully synth..

Dealer puts Castrol 0W-30 SLX (Edge) in mine. It's a longlife fully synth oil.

I always use fully synthetic and always have done but i still change the oil more than i need to motor has only done 29k and oil has been changed 5 times and soon to be 6 think the viscosity is 0-40 or 0-30 ...Asda are doing Mobil 1 for £32 and that is really cheap

So nothing thicker is recommended. That 0w-30 is that what vx specify?

From my service book (2003) :

"Oil grade GM-LL-A-025 for the Z20NET

For this grade viscosities 0W-30, 0W-40, 5W-30 and 5W-40 are permitted"

Reckon Dave's link will be the current/latest recommendation.

Thanks peeps.....think 5w-30 it is then fully synthetic yes? 0w-30 seems too thin to me taking the mileage into account. This is my first vec c so cue many questions like this!!

My cars on 78k now... I just get the refill from halfrauds, its states what car on the side of the tub..
