Hi guys,
does anyone know what a reasonable charge would be to replace the front and rear brake discs and pads?
I'm got all the parts but was thinking of a garage replacing them rather than me, due to the safety etc..
Thanks
Dan

You're probably looking at 3 hour's labour I would imagine.
do they charge £60 an hr or have i heard wrong
i would guess at between 100-200 just for labour in a garage.
According to VX TIS2000, approx 2 hours.

I did something similar on one of my previous vecs. Bought the kit and bottled it. I took them to Kwik Fit and they replaced the lot for £120 as i remember. They wern't bothered, so long as the kit was genuine, as they would have had to order the bits themselves anyway. It took about 2hrs, but they were quiet, so i think 2 lads did them.

£20/25 a corner i paid, just had them done...
Thanks for your replies.
I didn't know it was going to be that much.
I'll probably give them a call to see. They seem fair cheap compared to other places. They replaced my fuel filter for free before.
I'm fair confident about doing them myself, but I thought if they were cheap enough, then I may aswell let the garage have the hassle
pity your not closer fella would have done em for ya for some beer tokens lol
I got a quote at the end of last year, bear in mind this the pads and discs, not pads only
Inclusive of VAT
Front pads and discs (314mm), excluding brake sensor (approx extra £12)
£85.19 parts
£71.76 labour
Rear pads and discs (292mm)
£85.78 parts
£89.70 labour
The labour cost is the same no matter which Vectra, and the parts prices are fairly similer between models
