SRi rear lights

I'm going to change the amber-topped rearlights on my 54 plate Vec for some SRi-type smoked ones, but not sure whether to get 2nd hand Vauxhall ones or new aftermarket ones, as sold by a few sellers on ebay. Has anyone bought the aftermarket type ones? If so, are they ok quality and a good fit?

eewww..... youre not going to end up with 'lexus style' lights off ebay are you? Ive never bought veccy lights but Ive had 2-3 cheap sets of aftermarket lights all of which have not fitted great, leaked, cracked & been poorly finished.

I got my smoked tip rear lights from ebay & was fortunate to get them fairly cheap, certainly cheaper than those being sold on there for £50 each!

My advice would be to take your time & keep searching ebay every day. Thats what i did & if you're patient, you'll get what you want for the price you want. Failing that, surely someone on here would sell you a pair.

Oh, as bigdave says, please don't spoil your veccy with lexus style lights, they look terrible!

I definately won't be doing the lexus-look lights, I've never been a fan of them as they never seem to suit the cars they're fitted to, plus seem to be cheap quality. I just want to change to the smoked-top rear lights as fitted to the SRi, as my car is grey and would suit it better I think. Will keep an eye on Evilbay, although the new ones seem to be between £40 and £50 each at the moment, and wasn't sure what the quality on these would be like compared to original Vauxhall.

just to let you know, i got 2 rear lights of the smoked tip variety for around £30 each from ebay & they are genuine VX lights. not sure they do copies, but im no expert.

keep on looking, your patience will pay off in the end
