Default Battery Has charge, Car won't start.

Ok so my local mechanic did a major service today, and whilst he was servicing the car didn't realise that the key was still in the ignition. Thus the radio and interior lights were on for about 5 hours. Now he jump started the car and took it for a decent drive. But when I tried to start the car a few hours later all i hear is the starter motor clicking over. Headlights and all other electrics work and am getting a warning on the centre console to check left side/right side indicators. Both of which are fine.

Just wondering if anyones encountered this before and how to fix it? I'll be purchasing a new battery in the morning and see if that solves it.

    Cheers guys.

Try disconnecting the battery and giving it a charge. Check the electrolyte level first if not sealed battery. May save you cost of a new battery. HTH

Turns out the negative terminal contact had become so brittle it had snapped.

Problem solved with a new battery.

Pleased you got it sorted. Hope there's plenty of grease on the new terminals to prevent oxidation leading to brittleness.
