    Default loss of power!!!!!!!!

    Well i was on a dual cariage way in the fast lane, and all i can describe what happened is like some one switched off the engine.......The car and spanner light came on in the little lcd screen and sayed on but no EML light......i could nt rev passed 2000 rmp....pulled in lay by switched off for 10 mins then started it up......everything ok......gave the car a good hamering and it ok...(may be wrong thing to do)..I have a 120 8v, it got a tuning box on (had no trouble in 2 yrs), cleaned the EGR valve (but wasnt too bad) and boost sensor (it was gunked up)...about 2 mnth ago..The car has 106500 on the clock but never had any probs b4.....Will it of stored a fault code...Any help would be appreciated goin away with it on Thurs night.......

    You went into Limp-Home Mode.

    I think the error has to be on for a minute for it to be stored in the ecu. Get it plugged in ASAP and let us know what the code is.

    Did you check the vacuum pipes (small pipes the size of bicycle brake cables) for any holes/nicks? I occasionally went into limp home mode and it turns out I had a nick in one of these pipes. You gotta look carefully as a tiny pin ***** hole could cause this to happen.

    What is the small pic of the engine in the bottom right corner? when the ignition on?... Cos this wasnt on...

    I have a 2.2dti so I'm not sure how its set-up on the 1.9cdti but would imagine it would still have vacuum pipes as it regulates the air pressure within the system. I originally thought they were electrical cabling until I had this problem and did a bit of home work on this forum

    On my 2.2dti the vacuum pipe starts from the turbo and goes to the right side of the engine bay as you look at it. It goes into a little black box and then splits up to 2 more black boxes before going to the EGR and Boost Sensor. I've borrowed a pic from this site to show how it looks. I have coloured the pipes in red.
