    Default Clarkson The New Angle

I watched TG last night, and one thing hit me, perhaps he's not anti VX at all, I used to know a publican who would ad his pub in the paper, he'd write ......

Come to the worst pub in the area, **** beer and food and awefull staff.

It was a reverse psychology, tell them how bad it is to get them thinking, we must go have a look at this to see how bad it really is, the pub was and still is gr8, seems to get ppl as landlords who keep the tradition and atmosphere alive.

Maybe Jeremy is working the samething, say it's bad so ppl will go for a look just to see if he's making it up.

I noticed he said the chassis was awefull, and it understeered, well if you turn off TC in a high powered car like that and boot it into a corner it's gonna understeer due to the tyres not being able to cope with the power, how many times does he slag a car because it's uninvolving etc, well I'd say from what he says, driving it hard is very involving for the driver.

Apparently he only slags em off cause he didn't get his own way with a vx dealer once. Prob an urban myth though.

I think we should all e-mail him with our views on him

I do like his style and wit but do find his constant slagging off of Vectra's a bore now.

I think its sad, the latest Astra is a really nice looker, I assume it does all a car should do so he shouldn't have reason to keep knocking the range, I might get tickets to go on the show one week, and hope he gives me the old what do you drive question, when I answer i will point out that 20 yrs of Vx ownership is due to the car doing what it says on the tin and the overall cost of owning it, we cant all drive 30k + cars, granted if I was him i wouldn't want to drive a Vectra either, but i wouldn't keep on reviewing them before i'd tested them, which seems to be his forte, i'm sure he went to the BBC that day with his summary already written before he'd even sat in the car.

as ive said before , i do like mr clarkson , but ,if i went on the show id have to say , jeremy you are a tw4t! stop test driving porsches , lambos, ferraris etc and do more tests on cars that ,IMO about 90% of the viewers can actually afford to drive and TBH how many of us would actually drive their cars the way they are driven on the show?

Right then, just going to apply for 1000 tickets, 1 for each Vec-C member, perhaps a bit of 'people power' on his show might just help him change his mind

Or we could just break in and drive around the airstrip at silly speeds demonstrating how to drive a vectra without causing massive understeer i.e using the brakes occaisionally leading in to corners with TC or other handling gizmos doing what they are supposed to do
