Default Newbie with wobbly rear end..!!

Hi all, have recently returned to the vauxhall scene with a SRi Edition 100, I'm trying to decide if there's a problem with the ride/ rear suspension.
I've had numerous SRi's in the past but this is my first Vec C.
Around town the ride is firm, but certain unmade surfaces make the rear feel really unsettled, and on the motorway the other day it felt so disconnected on the back end I took my foot off.
I've jacked it up this weekend and the springs don't appear broken and no obvious leaks on the shocks.
    Any thoughts????

Gonna disagree with ya here Dez , i'd go with knackered upper control arms.

If you grab a hold of the top of the rear wheel (while it's on the ground) and give it a few sharp tugs, there should be no noises but if you are getting a clunking sound then i'd be replacing the UCA's hth

Cheers guys, have given both the back wheels a good tug (so to speak!) and one makes no noise at all and the other is making a right old clonking noise and almost feels liek it has movement in it.
Seems to be pointing to the UCA's so will get them changed and see what happens..

I changed the upper control arms last week - couldn't believe how soft one of the rubber bushes had become. It was shocking; (see what I did there ? )

Hoping I won't have to do it myself, only had the car 6 weeks so hoping the so called warranty will cover it. Bit surprised it went through the MOT though, shouldn't it of got picked up then ??
Wonder if the wife knows how to change upper control arms?!? i'll ask...!
