    Default CD70 Display

Can anyone advise what medium to use to clean the screen on my CD70 (nav).

I guess that when its lit up in daylight mode it doesn't look too bad. In night mode it loses a bit of focus where the greasy/dirty marks are, but when everything is switched off it looks like an uncared for mess.

I've tried glass wipes, dry microfibre cloths, spit, and even LCD screen spray.

It still looks greasy when switched off. Its not inside the unit cos you can move the streaks and marks around whilst wiping.

hard one, but a mild alcohol based cleaner may work...

Such as Isopropyl Alcohol, as used to clean tape heads and cd lenses.

If you have a gease problem, the alcohol or spirit based chemicals are the only adequate solution.
I once heard that Vodka is a good grease cutter / cleaner and it is quite odourless and taint-free...

BUT and there's always a but..

Some cheaper alcohol cleaners leave a white powdery residue when dried.

Do not use brake, carb or electrical contact cleaner....these are far too harsh, and may damage the delicate screens.

Mine was pretty filthy when I bought my Vectra. The LCD screen cleaner I bought from ALDI cleaned it up.
