hmm could have been the tie rod. is there a difference between the 2?
the one the mechanic showed came from & was attatched to the steering

The tie rod comes out of the steering rack and is what the track rod end fixes to, apparently quite common for them to fail on vectra's mine had an advisory on them last year, i'll get around to doing them at some point before the mot this year lol

Yeah I would, if one is worn the other will be just as bad, you'll probably need to have your wheel alignment (tracking) reset afterwards unless your very bl**dy lucky.

After my attempt to change the tie rods and ends I would advise letting a garage do it. They are be a real pain to remove.....have a read.....http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showth...ght=drag+links
