    Default Central door locking problem

Just wondering if anybody else has had this porblem before.....Basically either when locked or unlocked when i press the key fob it doesnt work, nothing at all ive tryd a new battery and it has been to vx but as this is an intermitent fault they coudnt find it...I must say it only happens maybe once or twice a month but iam worried it might get worse.I do know that by putting the key in the ignition it resets the system thus the key fob working.

Opened car today to bore holes for reversing sensors: no prob. Went too relock the car, press-press zilch. Changed battery, still the same.
Am a tad worried as I can't secure my car. Where i live, people lock their dustbins. Anybody got a clue??

You can lock the car via the driver side door with the key. This will lock the whole car and arm the imboliser and alarm.

Not on a 2006 onwards Vectra it won't (and possibly slightly earlier ones too)

All it will do is lock the drivers door. To lock all the doors you have to reach in through the passenger door and press the lock button on the door panel of switches, then close up the passenger door you reached in through. Note:- the alarm won't be armed.

ps, the locking / unlocking of the doors doesn't arm / disarm the immobiliser. That works via a transponder chip inside the key. A wrong or missing chip and the ignition won't allow the car to start.

On my 2002 vectra the drivers door does all of the central locking. That's strange the Vauxhall would change that. When my drivers side door lock malfunctioned (it wouldn't tell the ECU the door was actually shut) I had to do the following to secure the car.

I dint know if this helps with the above situation but it's the only way I have seen how ti secure the car when the locks are playing up.
