intercooler problem

hi all regarding one of my last threads (whoosing noise) i have now found the culprit see the picture, thing is see the cooler has turned from square in shape to a big bow on the bottom obviosly there has been a lot of pressure build up to expand the cores and actually rip the grill pieces off the core
anyone know how this pressure build up has occured?

Dang. Mine 1.9CDTi 120 has just done the same too. Was coughing a bit at 2000rpm at steady throttle, but seemed OK (ish) whilst accelerating. Maybe a bit sluggish. Just discovered mine has a goosed intercooler. Anyone know how much a new intercooler is from VX?

Hi boys, just done mine as i had exactly the same fault. £188 from stealers. Fitted it myself as local garage wanted £130 to fit. It's fairly easy, hardest part is getting the front end high enough to slide the intercooler out. if you need any help/ info, just drop me a PM.

Yeah. £188 from stealers and a pal has offered to fit it for £30. Not worth getting my hands dirty. Happy days.

Just hope the DPF has not got clogged up. The last few months have only done short journeys... 4 miles each way. Hopefully have it fixed for Friday and then I'll give it a godd motorwya do on Saturday to blow off the cobwebs.

Out of curiosity, are there any warning lights or anything other signs that suggest the DPF is goosed?
