Default Anyone suffer with Tennis Elbow?

I,ve been suffering with this for about 7mths now firstly in my right arm and then yesterday it flared up in my left arm badly.

Had about 7 cortisone injections in my right elbow and hand in the last 6mths and the last set a week ago made no difference at all.

Speciailists says could take a year or 2 to heal in both arms which when you are working offshore just is not an option to sit around on your backside all day!

I,ve tried ice/heat, painkillers, deep heat special "Tennis Elbow Supports" and its just getting worse to the point I lose the feeling in my fingers.

Anyone have any tried and tested methods?

Hi Lee , i suffer with Golfers elbow - which considering i dont play golf is a real suprise
    - mine is from tennis/squash/badminton = some complain but on the ulna nerve (inside of the elbow rather than the radial nerve which is where yours comes from) i've had injections - i'm taking anti inflamitorys and currently having physio on my elbow as well

my physio is a sports physio and he has told me to stop all sports and i have "exercises" that i do daily that DO help and i have to wait and see it it improves

my advice would be to get referred to a sports physio - they should be able to help as 90% of the issues come from bad technique to start with
    regards

Hey Dez I,ve been having physio but still no joy and the only thing I,m told is rest. Prob is when you are working offshore and you are having to lift 80kg doors off to check stuff you don,t rest!

I,ve been told mine is just from years of martial arts and weight training but I never play tennis! I find mine also makes my middle fingers really stiff to bend (Handy for replying to the boss :-) )and that is a seperate issue and is the tendon swelling up.

I even bought one of those ball thingy,s you have to spin to keep the momentum going but the next day I could not move my arm without saying ****ing hell lmao

yep = mine is soo painful i cant stay asleep at night - it just wakes me up every hour as soon as i move - i was told if i dont stop squash till it gets better i could loose all feeling in my right arm - i also loose feeling in my finger as well

but the problem with mine being on the ulna is thats the "funny bone nerve" so every time i move my arm it feels like i'm smashing my funny bone

I had an injection in my knee last year for a tear and it worked after one inj and never hurt since (about a year of no pain)

First set of injections in elbow worked for about 1 week, 2nd set including palm of hand worked for about 10weeks 3rd set did nothing and gave me nothing but pain. 1 set was done normally but 2nd and 3rd were done via ultrasound (you can see needle going in and out)

I,d say give it a go if it works then great if not join Dez and my club of intolerable pain, lack of sleep and frustration
