Has it had swirl flap problems ? What toys does it have ? Then the standard list of things to look at and ask when you're looking at changing the car.

    great motor that.
I'm guessing yours is the 1.9 - well, you won't get near the same mpg with the 3.0 obviously, just see how many miles you do and work out if it'll be a problem or not.
considering changing my 1.9 for a 3.0 myself... hmmm

On a 3.0 V6 CDTI? I've never heard of that being such a problem on this engine yet, there are others that are much worse!

Mine is on 108K miles now, returns an average of 32.8mpg (and it has displayed that since I have owned mine from 18 months old / 10K miles

The swirl flaps are known to stick on the 1.9 CDTI, I've never heard of it being an issue on this engine (different engine manufacturers)

Try to find out what warranty claims and any repairs have been made
If it has had the uprated SCV fitted, that is something you don't need to worry about' if the existing SCV becomes blocked then you are looking at £1000 to fix it
Apart from that, the usual Vectra issues; electrics, suspension

According to my publicity booklet I was given when I bought mine, 3.0 V6 diesel manual gearbox hatch(you didn't say man/auto) will do 28.8 around town and 54.3 on a run, compared to the 1.9 "150" 38.2 around town and 60 on a run, if that helps.
    Speed/acceleration there's not much between them....on paper!
