This week started with the funeral of another cabbie, he was in his 60's, 3 weeks ago he got cancer, 2 weeks later he died, he was a real gent and loved by all.

Today, i get a phone call, my eldest nipper is having her b-day party today, the call is from another mother, she tells me one of the kids wont be coming, his dad another cabbie had a heart attack on a golf course and passed this morning, so him and his mum are away where it happened.


What I really want to say is this.... what God takes the father of a 7 yr old who depends on his dad, what God gives a man who does nothing but good cancer?

I feel for your loss, and your family's loss VV. Life is too short so live it to the full.

Without getting into a discussion about religion - there is no God, there is just a series of stories about morals and human frailties and also to give people comfort.

Sorry to hear what has happened, cancer is a horrible thing, I know, and a heart attack is horrible thing too, I realy feel for both families, It is very strange how life deals some unfair blows from thime to time, I often wonder what they prove, are they to strenghten the character of the people left behind,I some how don,t think so.May they gain strenght from their loss though.

So sorry mate - went through similar last November when we lost Chris's Dad in a matter of weeks. Bl00dy awful thing to happen, especially as you say when there are little ones losing their Dad.

I am a Christian (C of E) and am deaply involved within my local Church. Without wishing to cause any further upset, may I offer you my sympathy and say that despite what has been said I, personally am not offended by it. But I suspect that some people would find it offensive and it is not what I would expect to find on this site.

I understand your point and ive edited the original post accordingly. Ive left only what i suspect a large number of us have said from time to time ourselves when we are going through the greiving process. (i know i have)

I felt the same when I lost my Dad, he's a hero to me & was a most compassionate & caring person.

The circumstances were painful & he suffered, but never gave up. He loved my kids jumping on him even when he was desperately ill.

I don't know how he coped.

I am lucky to have grown up with him to show me the way & hope that he'd approve of how things are going for us.
