No not that one I have left that as mine looks ok and looks hard to change is the other pipe that goes from te White vacuum pot to the vacuum pipe on the engine and the small tube Which goes top to bottom of the vacuum pump if you know what I mean there is only 3pipes an it's not the one you said

    Hope you understand which ones

Winnie seems to have right idea. Now that it's fixed the turbo is coming in right down low and acceleration is very smooth all the way up. I can't remember it ever being like that. It always seemed to have a flat spot.

I think I might do the same and replace all the pipes, especially as the ones near the engine will be getting quite warm.

Def like I said my pipes were not split but were perished and what a difference the car drives like new I recommend every one to buy some hard rubber hose and replace the 2pipes as it costs 3 quid and transformed the flat spot and turbo lag I have had

I have been very carefully following this thread. Winnie, I checked the pipes on my dad's CDTI 150 last night and there were no splits, etc and the rubber does not look preished at all. How bad were your's to look at? Should I still change them?

I had a look at all these hoses on mine and found the shorter 1 of the 2 near vacume pump was wearing very thin off rubbing on the plastic engine cover...i have replaced this 1 and the car seems a bit smoother when driving....would this have caused it to overboost as that was the code that came up when the spanner light came on........

I thnk the old pipes were getting too much suction and closing off as now the turbo kicks in at just over 1200revs and my boost gauge is showing steady boost through out the rev range as I was getting boost dropping off just slightly but def worth buying some hard rubber pipe cost me 3quid for 4mm by 3meters of pipe and made a hell of a difference worth changing just to remove the turbo lag
where did you get your new pipes from??

    (of the new pipes!)

Thinking I might need to do mine as I still have a 'poor performance' spot between 1500-2000rpm. Anyone have the cost of originals from Vx for these?

Also, in first gear, if I floor it, mad acceleration up until 4000rpm and then it just cuts out (miles from red line). Is that 'normal'?

When I started reading this post I recognised the symptoms from when I helped smiley-sri with his 120 a couple of weeks back. Unsurprisingly it was the VAC pipe on his too. Also the-wizard had same problem on his 150. Suggest this is well worth everyone checking!
