should never really use a jetwash at close distance... your car should be washed and soaked so that you can do it from a fair distance so that it doesnt excert much pressure against the paintwork... i only normally only go full pelt with it under the arches and stuff..

pressuyre washers r great for getting crud off wheels. I wouldn't worry to much about getting to close. i've used my pressure washers on loads of different cars and never damaged any. Saying that i wouldn't go too close with one of them at garage forecourts as they r mega powerful. They could take wings off!!!

Best to use the pressure washer at an angle to the paint not 90 degrees to it.

    what power is it anyway?

I just got a small one (the Mac-allister) from B&Q for the same price. It's powerful enough but it's not going to blow the car down the drive. (even with the hand brake on )
