Hi everyone I hope you can help, or at least advise (i put this in the elec forum but not sure if that was right)… another problem with my Vectra (55 plate 1.9cdti sxi). Yesterday I was driving to work and after about 40 or so miles, the car started chugging/kangarooing – kind of feels like its misfiring or maybe air in the system that sort of thing. Anyway the low oil (not pressure light, the other one) light came on about 2-3 miles before that but I know that there’s plenty of oil in there as its been checked 2 days before as the oil light came on and then went off again then.

So in between the oil light I noticed that the light with the car and spanner was intermittently flashing, but it didn’t SEEM to be in limp mode at the time – but I pulled over soon after and switched the engine off so I’m not certain. I tried to re-start the car to see if it would reset as the manual said, but the spanner light was then on constantly , and the car was clearly not running right, I guess limp mode, so I switched it back off.

My wonderful other half came down to help me, and said he would ‘escort’ me back in case anything else went wrong. So when I started driving the car again, after a mile or two, the spanner light went off and the oil light went off too for the rest of the journey, but the ‘emissions’ light came on (the one that looks like an engine) !!! Anyway the car was still in limp mode with the emissions light on, so we dropped it off with Vauxhall – it’s there now waiting to be plugged in. I just wondered if anyone had come across the same issue (I’ve seen similar threads on here, but not identical) – or could give any advice , or assistance or ideas… thanks in advance…
