Default Service indicator - Warranty work tomorrow

Car is off into the local Vx agent tomorrow for them to 'diagnose' the problem, and hopefully extinguish the light until its time for a service.

Anything I should be asking / ideas to push towards them?

Car is May 03 2.2 petrol Hatch Elegance.

    Cheers

Some 03 cars had a known problem with the service light, mine included, after many, many, many visits to the dealer it was fixed by fitting a new instrument cluster, was fine after that ....

Thank you. Any ideas on a fault reference or something I can use for leverage with the dealer / warranty

No idea mate, but it is a known problem, tell them that they need to replace the instrument cluster as it is a common problem with 03 cars, they will see you know what you are talking about and might have a shufty for the remedy ...

yep will do. Trouble is the service 'receptionists' are not as responsive or helpful as they used to be...

I'll just be knowledegeable ( with all 1000 of you right behind me ) and tell them what I know...

Field Remedies are 1640 and 1641. 1641 (instrument cluster replacement) kicks in if 1640 (re-program) can't fix it.

PDF here - you'll see the breakpoint at which they fixed it in production. If yours is before then it'll be an easy warranty job. If your car is after that breakpioint, Vx will probably say they can't do anything!

    You're welcome! Hope it helps.

I can see your dealers when they see the FR's! WTF!! Not to mention wondering where you got them from!!
