Default Blown bulb warning light on dash??

I've only had my Vectra ('53) about 2 months now but it's always shown a "bulb symbol with exclamation mark in it" and a "brake disc warning light" for the first 30 secs on start up. All bulbs are fine and the brakes were replaced by the previous owner. He said they must have forgot to reset the warning lights.

Is there a secret combination of buttons to press to reset them myself?
I've found on the web how to reset the service light reminder but nothing for the above.

    Can anyone help?
    Cheers.

bulb warning light might be a bulb on it's way out....and perhaps the pad low indicator was not replaced when pad's were done

The brakes one, did they replace the sensor wire? It should be done when the pads are changed as they are a one use type affair.

You could try changing the brake sensor cables. They are fragile and could have been damaged when the brakes were changed.

Also if its a break light, the veccy will use the fog light in its place, It has caught many a person out. Check the exact same lamp is lit on both sides

    Bah silly gurus!!!!

Interesting about the fog light, never heard that before.

So is it easy to replace the sensor wires yourself? I'm hoping the sensors themselves won't need changing too?

if you are mechanicaly minded then yes, if not, not too hard a job realy, but get a mech to do it for you if you are unsure, i am sure there is a how 2 somewhere on here...

I think the bit about the fog light or sidelight which i think it is, will be in the manual. I'm pretty sure I was wrong with it being the fog light as the veccy only has one, so it must be the sidelight. Basically, check all the lamps are secure and their connections are clean

The wire and the sensor are one part mate.
