    Unhappy Oil in coolant

    Really bad news folks, yesterday I noticed my coolant deposit was brown, today I took it to the mechanic and after looking at the chocolate milk in the coolant the diagnostic was unclear, they said it could be the radiator or the heads joint.. they´re starting with the radiator, 5 days without the car and a hefty replacing price later we´ll know if that was the problem or they need to go ahead with the engine check, the warranty is for one year only in Mexico so no luck there, and it only has 28,400 km... I´m truly, deeply, madly sad...and broke

    Sounds like head gasket to me

    That does sound like a possible culprit - although at only 28,000KM it's a bit alarming!!

    Another likely suspect is the oil cooler. Where is it on the 3.2 V6? I know on the B it was in the V between the two banks of cylinders. Absolute bi*ch to get to and mahoosive labour bill!

    If it was any other engine, yeah I would say head gasket.
    But on the V6 (assuming the basic design is similar to the earlier 2.5/2.6's and I think it is) I would vote for the oil cooler at this mileage, which is as he ^^^ said.

    Iwould put my money on the oil cooler my car has had a new one at about 30,000 miles apparently they are a bit troublesome !!!!!!

    Back in a V6 !!!!!!!!!!!! And lovin it !!!

    Saul...

    you got an auto or a manual gearbox.. cause you all know what i'm thinking if it's an auto..

    Why are they starting with the radiator? that won't cause the contamination..is there any present in the sump oil??.. if it is the oil cooler then we could prob guide you on how to change it yourself from over here

    If your has an auto box it is probably the oil cooler for this. There is a known problem on the early 3.2 autos due to failure of a seal in the auto fluid cooler that is built into the bottom of the engine radiator. If it is this problem then it means a new gearbox and radiator. Get them to check this before they start messing around with leaks from cylinder heads etc.
