    orite peeps wich vectra c is the best one to go for im botherd about speed nowadays i just want a good motor with some nice tastefully styling,but was wanting to know wich engine to go for as i here 1.9cdti are full of problems the 2.2 chains are always snapping???so was thinking 1.8 sri??help me out lads cheers

    All engines have problems at some time or other, just you only ever read about the people who complain.

    Just get the vxr and drive slowly if you're not into speed?!?!

    its got to be the 2.0 T all the way. Most reliable engine in the range good mpg to. Go for it! You wont be disappointed.

    porkballs -that is what i was thinknig mate is that the ltd edition modle sri looks and sounds a good motor going for good money also.

    sy-i would love the vxr but cant aford to buy one mate lol.ill have about 4-5k to spend on a vecy.

    Nout wrong with the cdti's mate, dont overlook em! (best of the lot!!) lol, either the 120 or 150, i've got the 150 and love it!.

    I know a few people with em with some serious miles on and not had any major probs, just the ususal wear n tear, it's been said thousands of times before but all car forums are where people come with problems so all these "problems" are greatly exaggerated

    yeah cheers bignak im sure there are some belters about of the cdti yer see so many on the road taxis ect my mates a mechanic and says there are good you do read alot about the faults but llike you say above your proberly rite,he did say however to stay well clear of the 2.2 direct as he has them in all the time with chains snapped.

    still thinking what to get im a big fan of the 2.0t though.

    Yeah, when i went to London to look at my cdti, there was a silver sri 20t with xp styling and nav, looked the dogs danglies, it was 07 plate too, mine is a 56, plus it was a tad cheaper, i had to really be strict with meself (plus i'd been bangin on about a diesel vectra for ages and if i had come home with another petrol the missus wouldn't have let me in!), dont regret a minute though, mostly town driving and gettin 40 mpg i was lucky to get 20 in me xj
