    Default Ford Stealers?!?!

My mates dad traded in his mondeo for a Focus st with sheffields car people.

All was fine for few days and then it wouldn't come out of reverse without force. It got took into local stealers as was still in warrenty, and they have said its been worked on previously by a different stealer so they wont touch it. A dealers in Cheshire? they've made out it has to go there, so now he's gone back to car people...

Whats the crack here then, where does he stand... Are they just not wanting to fix another dealers mess and trying to palm it off. Surely in warrenty its not the owner that has to do all the running around etc?!?

Your mate shouldnt be doing any of the running around mate the warranty company will be his best port of call(unless dealers)? their is no reason why the said dealer wont touch the car unless the previous dealer has made a ar5se of the repair but even at that they have a duty to rectify the car to its original condition its the duty to uphold the warranty and carry out neccessary repairs. the comapny which he bought the car from should also be persuing this matter too

If the car was in dealership A for a warranty repair then it MUST go back there, while you own the car

If the car was in dealership A for a warranty repair, then there was a change of ownership, then dealership B for an identical warranty repair, dealership B should process the matter
If dealership B refuse, then refer the matter back to the sales department where you purchased the car

I have to admit though, Ford and warranties are odd things
I had nothing but problems with them (as have many members of my family)
I took a punt on a 53 reg Ford Mondeo Ghia 2.0 TDCI (as the Vectra C was slightly more expensive at the time)
My first warranty claim, for a replacement SONY CD changer, lasted 18 months; hopeless

Yeah, its only got 6k on clock and a year old. think previously it was a rental or something...

So as he's the next owner, it should be the local or Dealer B that should sort it. Car people said there going to ring around tomo - but still.

Touch wood, Missus 02 Mondeo has never put a foot wrong in 4 years!! So never had the pleasure of our local dealer there...
