I had the same, would only squeak when cold but was doing it constantly after a while. Took timing cover off and water pump was leaking.

Just got the bits today and hopefully get them fitted tomorrow or Thursday so will report back as and when.

Oh, I got water pump and timing belt kit and have bought an alternator, just in case!!

i had this on my 1.9cdti which drove me mental for about 6 months, tried WD40 on aux belt which stopped it for a few seconds, tried belt conditioning spray which din't work, changed belt tensioner -didn't work. i eventually bought a belt from the stealers that was less glossy than the cheap ones that i kept buying & gave each pully wheel a clean with some white spirit to get rid of all the crap i'd been spraying on & a light rub with emery cloth in the v pulley grooves & hey presto it's never squeaked/chirped since.
