Put one on my 1.9CDTI to allow it to breath to atmosphere rather than back into the inlet. Stops the oil mist going into the turbo impeller and back into the engine. The 1.9CDTI can breath quite heavily though, so I had to route it to the back of the car or you could smell the oil mist in the cabing sometimes.

The pipe is on the drivers side at the front of the engine, fairly easy to get to. It feeds onto an L shaped mount, on the air intake pipe going down to the turbo. The intake pipe would need to be blanked and the other pipe should be filtered. Like I said though, if you put a filter stright on it and breath it into the engine bay, you may smell it in the car sometimes. I used some rubber plumbing hoses to feed it all the way to the back.

Hey did the breather system with a catch tank.

Also have now taken off the top filter from the tank and just run a pipe down into the cars air flow under the car as nutron stated the fumes can reach the cabin filter and into the cabin

Or preferably put the out pipe for the catch tank back on the intake. This way any oil it taken out of the system and the vapor is burned off.

On the V6 it's easy. It's the piping that runs from the top left of the engine, down to the bottom right (engine cover removed) and then enters at the top of the hose that goes onto the turbo.

So if I decided to do this very cheap then basically all I need to do is take off thenpipe on the left hand side of the engine and take it off the down pipe from the air box to the turbo and blank the opening on the down pipe then the pipe I have disconnected on the left extend that to the bottom of the engine bay with e breather filter on it

If I do above then will I get zero oil vapour going into the intake manifold and will it effect the rest of the oil breathing system

also why does the pipe I have took off need to be filtered if it only expels oil

If you can get back to me asap thanks guys
