Makes me sick too. It is about time something was done where we all can benifit from profits like this. But the large cost of a gallon of petrol/diesel is the governments tax. They are the ones who should be doing something about their charge,s. I think.

It's got to be somewhere around 250% tax on a litre of fuel..... All justified by non-existent "global warming" (1998 hottest year in the last 50) and all this "carbon footprint" nonsense.
I really do worry that we're focusing on the wrong things and destroying our planet by ignoring the real issues.... But that's a different story.

I'm not surprised when they are charging 122p/LT and its only $96 a barrel for crude oil,

At the highest point last time is was around $186 a barrel and its more expensive now, tax has increase about 15p-20p a LT since summer last year under Labour, I truly hope they don't stay in another term FFS ! my pocket can't take much more

Don't see what the problem is with a company making a profit, that is what they are in business for. The cost of fuel has much more to do with the government than BP.

135% profit sounds a lot, but I suppose they have to fund research etc, similar to the bank's profits - and many of them were bailed out with our money.
Just filled in an AA survey on fuel costs, made it plain I think the Government are behind the high cost of fuel and duty should be no more than 20%.
Not that they'll take any notice.
Don't get me started on Global Warming, last I heard they're no blaming the native Americans 100's of years ago.
Still not convinced Global Warming exists, though I do believe we should take better care of the planet - hows it go "don't do the dirty on you're own doorstep". If we mess this planet up nobody has anywhere to go.

most of our bp profits come from investments in future technology's and reducing our running cost in transport and reducing the carbon foot print . bp are one of the major leaders in this at the moment we do do other stuff rather than fuel which the government tax us all hard on
