    Default Build/Test/Ship

Anyone know for sure how long it takes to build/test/ship an Insignia to the UK.

My dealer is being particularly evasive with nailing down a date my car is due to arrive.

    Cheers

its specification dependant - if its a standard model - then there should be no major delays - if you add lots of bells and whistles then there could be delays - but not unreasonable and they should be able to tell you why and what the delays are - my concern is if there not ....then what are they hiding?? i.e.- car damaged - not ordered- incorrectly ordered - parts not available = all are valid reasons for a delay - but all SHOULD be explained to you

It doesn't matter if you have options or not, if it is a factory order, delivery is the same time, anywhere between 8 and 16 weeks depending on demand.

If the car you choose is already built and available from stock, then your talking just a week or two.

Hope it is not a 1.8 petrol with 20" Alloys, that car is going to be sold to some poor buyer somewhere after being dropped off the ferry !!!!

It's an Elite Nav with Bluetooth & Infiniti speakers. The broker I ordered the car from says that the dealer still has the 30th Apri as due in date, however the dealer cannot tell if the car is en route to them.

I find this a strange comment to make, surely these things are tracked and a status/progress update easy to get from Vauxhall ?

At any one time they will know exactly where it is and what state it is in.

What they don't know is exactly how long it will take to get to you, because there are many variables: possible build delays due to demand, parts / engine shortages, transport schedules - trains, ferries, car transporters, volcanic activity in Iceland etc. etc.

I ordered mine on 09th Apr 2010 and dealer reckons mid June so about 10 weeks. He said demand had increased as before 5 to 6 weeks was the estimate.
