just been laid off advice please???

hi all i left my previous employer to work for my current one and started last week i have done a full weeks work plus overtime only to be told today that i wasnt wanted

what i want to know is there anything i can do as i havent even been given a weeks notice that is stated in my contract??? im really angry as they havent done it to my face as im not supposed to be in until tomorrow the management havent even rang me they have some monkey to do it for him!!! rant over

unfortunatly they will probably get away with it due to saying you were in a probationary period. really dont envy you on this think i would be asking for a full explanation you prob wont get one but its worth a try

They will need to pay you a weeks wages in Lieu

its law if you are weekly paid and they dont give you a weeks notice they have to pay you a week in lieu

They dont have to give you any notice unless you have been employed with them for over 3months, what this really means is you dont have many rights until you have been in the job for 3 months.

Its a really crap situation to be in you must be raging.

Untrue.. If your on a weeks notice its exactly that I employee 7 people and it doesnt matter if there there an hour a week or a month if your on a weeks notice you have to be paid it.. unless you get sacked for a serious breach IE gross misconduct.or your on agency. im taking it thats not the case so your on a weeks notice they have to pay you simplles
