Default Goodyear NCT anybody in this situation?

    hello all
i have a 2004 Elite which has goodyear NCT5' s fitted all round. The previous owner has replaced three of the tyres and two of them have date markings on their sidewall which would make then the subject of a vauxhall recall if they were fitted to a 2005 vectra as original equipment , but my tyres were bought from a tyre shop. On Saturday one of my front tyres lost most of it's tread on the M3 at quite high speed causing damage to the splash guard and sill cover and front wing and severing my abs wire ,i have replaced the dodgy tyre along with the other tyre that was manufactured between the dates in the vauxhall recall notice. the tyre shop or goodyear are not being very helpful.
    any body got any advice?

Maybe a word with trading standards would get Goodyear to take notice also try to get a copy of the tyre recall notice

Did you keep the tyre that failed ?????

    Back in a V6 !!!!!!!!!!!! And lovin it !!!

Tell goodyear that you are prepared to go to trading standards with the tyres if they do not compensate you fully for the damage to your car and the cost of replacement tyres !!!!!!!

Just remind them how much money it cost Bridgestone when they had tyre problems on the ford Explorer !!!!!

    Back in a V6 !!!!!!!!!!!! And lovin it !!!

there must be some others on here with tyres that fall into the category that are unaware of the possible damage the tread coming off at high speed could cause let alone losing control of the car if it blew out. its not just 2005 vectras any person that had nct's fitted in 2005 after the original tyres worn out could be driving around with these tyres on their car

i've had all my four tyres replaced under this recall, there are a few other members who have had to had theirs changed. there's another thread open on this so people are aware.

whether mine were in the batch that needed replacing is questionable but if they were then i'm glad i got them swapped before anything serious happened.

sounds like you got lucky, even with the damage because one of the guys on here actually had his blow out.

Thank god they dont do F1 anymore, mind you if I was up against Bridgestone and Michelin I'd drop out too.

Got Turanzas on my Vec, very impressed, thought one was a bit low when I got the car, just wearing out now after 8k on top of whatever it had done already, might even be the ones from the factory, 24k from a front tyre on FWD is the best i've ever seen, normally get 14k max from a budget.

What have Goodyear said about the situation ?

Normally tyre companies are quite positive and employ field engineers who will come out and look at it for you. We had an issue with a Continental tyre on a works Transit and they were round the following day and couldn't have been more helpful.

when i phoned goodyear the receptionist said after i mentioned nct problem "is it about the recall i will put you through to somebody who can help" then the somebody proceeded to tell me it was not a recall and that vauxhall were changing the tyres on cars sold by them for "customer satisfaction" but he told me not to drive on the remaining tyre that is within the affected range but to get it replaced , when i asked who was going to pay he said i should and if there was a problem with my tyre i would receive credit against a new tyre , i don't want goodyears anymore i just want my car repaired back to how it was.
