    Default Drop links....

    how long should they last? changed mine just over 2 weeks ago and i think they could be knackerd again . As the knocking noise at the front has started again today (not same noise as before i changed the links)
    can you buy up rated links?

    should be way longer than 2 weeks..i.m guessing youve cked your springs ...could also be top mounting bearings...cant remember why now but when Plasma changed his once they didn't sit quite right and the rubber seal perished ...worth a ck too

    cheers mate, PI springs are ok checked last week (not a year old yet)
    how much are strut top bearings?

    while your at it check your wishbone, under the hub area.. easier to take the wheel off to check this,

    in this pic below from the how2 on changing front disks you can see the wishbone just below the wratchet.. this joint has a vertical pin about 1cm diameter that inserts upwards into the bottom of the hub (not sure on actual part names here), this area can knock like gooddun and you can easily miss it,, replacement wishbone range fron 50 to 90 quid, not hard to replace..

    Start small mate, check the arb bushes on the front, they will give a rattly knocking sound

    Also the rad mounts. I even solved a suspension sounding noise when I found out my exhaust hangers had rusted through.

    sounds like its coming from inside the turret? if that makes sence

    do you only hear it when turning the wheel ??? cos we have found that the torx screws holding the top mount can sometimes be a touch to long and foul the spring.a couple of washers underneath cured this fault

    it only started doing it a month ago,so changed the drop links and was ok for a while now the sound has reapeared
