gid upgrade

i have tid at the mo, i want to upgrade to gid but just a few questions,

it is half canbus so as far as im aware its ok,
do i need an info stalk?
and do i need a vauxhall head unit?
please help

Hi mate i did the upgrade last month. You'll need a screen with the correct code prefix. The wiper stalk will enable you to scroll through the settings/menu, you'll probably need it tech2ing. You'll also need the 32pin connector for the back of the screen as the TID on is only 18. I found one of these hard to find. my screen wasn't 'divorced' from the old head unit but because i'm 1/2 canbus it worked fine. And i have a cdr2005.

To be honest, these seem to be the most common plugs in the scrap yard...
You want to look for nearly any 2005 onward vauxhall, as most will have this style screen connector.

Only 2001 to 2004 vehicles with basic screens will have either yellow connectors or the 18 pin connectors behind the screen. Also try late Vectra-B and Omega-B's (2001 to 2003).

ok, is there anyone prepared to help me with my gid upgrade? i will get screen, stalk and connector. there will be beer tokens and some paper with the queens head on! lol
