You'd have to spend more time cleaning the wheel arches then though..

this is really old, for some reason there's some problem and it looks like they're not making them.
it's not a "style" thing - if they got something like this to work, it would replace normal tyres because it'd be a lot safer - no more people killed due to blowouts as these don't rely on being filled with air.

These are an Airless tyre' the theory being no air, no punctures / blow outs, they had some very good testing reviews apparently, they are supposed to be very strong, but capable of deforming aswell over bumps, kerbs etc. And were supposed to outlast a traditional tyre.

Not much to offer in the looks department though are they!

That was my concern. what happens if someone slashes the ribs. Wonder what the rides like? Odd looking things, but then they likely said that abut the first pneumatic tyres.

I saw these somewhere a few years ago but there was a problem found with them at that time, I cant recall what the issue was but I have a niggle it was something to do with resonating at certain speeds affecting the steering. Not 100% certain I'm remembering that right but in any case they look awful in my opinion not to mention it takes ages to clean the alloy wheel in the middle, without the rubbish and dirt that would get stuck in and caught up in those rubber webs. Just adds to the time keeping the darn things clean.
