    Default Vectra Sri

Hi people just a quick question I have a 2007 vectra Sri only done 27000 miles, started to play up last Sunday no power and shaking. So I took back to vauxhall early Monday morning. I had a phone call yestrday saying the car needs a new engine. Luckly it's still got manufactors warrenty but still I was very shocked. Has anyone been in this situation before?? See I'm stuck now cause don't now what to do sell it when repaired or keep it. Matt

Did they actually say what the problem was. It might be a good thing if they are going to put a New engine in, rather than just take it apart and replace what is "broken". If you do have a new engine. It will be like new, with zero miles on as to 27000 at the moment. I doubt it that they will rest the mileometer to zero though.

Hi. Rac told me it was the coilpack so I was thinking not to bad then easy peasy. But when at vauxhall they said it had low compression in cyclinder 3 which snapped the piston. They said have to wait for engine to arrive and don't change radiator alternator parts like those just the engine. It's a 1.8 petrol Sri. It's shocked me really as just sort of happened no warning really. Is there any way I could get clocks set back to zero? Cheers for help

yeah your right the most likely wont as the car has done 27k as well as the engine, they should well document it with the car history and new service book with a form of explaination attached to prove the engine change, thats what we have to do when changing engines with either more or lesss miles unless new!.

personally i would keep it but if your not gonna feel confident with it anymore after that i would sell as your hearts not with it anymore,.
