    Default universal lambda

    hi all seems a bit dead tonite on here dont suppose anyone can advise me on what the differnce is between a position 2 universal lambda and a lambda designed for my car(position 2) as ive just had a universal one put on and my car seems real bad on fuel since,

    Universal sensors do not have the plug fitted and you have to in-line crimp the connections. Read many articles about universal sensors being inferior quality and unreliable.

    Also the O2 sensor will be made to a spec matched to the car, the universals as name suggests are a "jack of all trades" so whilst maybe of good quality will not perform as good as a proper one. Also check you crimping and the connector, may sure you are getting good contact

    Put a proper one on it mate, I've fitted a couple of them universal ones before and they haven't even turned the management light off, Really not worth bothering with for what the difference in price is.

    well thats settled then im now in need of two lambdas if anyone has any for the z22se

    i fitted a universal one on my 2.2 with no problems, and it put the light out.

    Although it was the second one which i think is less important.
