Default Normal suspension behaviour or crap shocks?

    Hi all
I have had a 54 plate 2.0DTI estate for 3 years. Bought it with 107k on and it now has 141k on it. Thought I would upgrade it to a newer 06 1.9cdti estate with only 107k on.
My 2.0DTI handled like a dream, very flat and you could go round corners wiping ordinary mortals out. However this 1.9cdti I have just bought has this rather unsettling floating feeling. It doesnt feel like duff shocks as there is no hopping and skipping it just feels like there is less control.

Before i decide to buy some Bilsteins as an example, is this suspension difference between my old 2.0dti and my newer 19cdti normal? Did they make it softer on purpose?

    Thoughts?

    cheers+

    Vehicle : Vectra

    Trim : SRI NAV XP

    Engine : 1.9 CDTI 150

    Year : 2007

    Mileage : 72K

    Default

If you have gone from an SRI to a non-SRI then the suspension will feel noticeably softer and 'floatier'. AFAIK all pre-facelifts have the same suspension either SRI/GSI (sports suspension) or standard (all other trims). Suspension type is dictated by trim level not by engine type.

    Default

The firmish one is an LS and the floaty new one is a Club. i wouldn't have thought that they would be different as they are the cooking varieties.
