    Default Lads! Be Honest?

I bought my 2.0 DTi on purpose for reliability and known faults.

Those of you running 1.9's and i mean only 1.9's how are you fareing with reliability and ability to diagnose faults from the dealer?

I ask because there are quite a few 1.9's running about in town as cabs, and the drivers are grumbling about how unreliable the cars are, this flywheel issue seems top of the list, added to gremlin fault lights.

Did I buy right?, do you wish you hadn't bought a 1.9? or has yours been fine and you are pleased with it?

    VV,

We run a 1.9 CDTi 150 here at work ,and i have to say that it's been a gem..Has never seen the dealer from the day we collected it and so far (touch wood) has proved utterly reliable and faultless..apart from the front ciggy lighter that was never connected at the factory. ...

    Flywheel???? where??? it's another auto..

Dual Mass Flywheels have been a problem on quite a few cars.

Mine was a gem apart from the particulate filter which needed changing a few times and was fine after a software upgrade.

Only Vec Estates and Signums have the particle filter.

    VV,

Only had mine since January 2006 (Done around 14500 miles)

Onlky problem I had so far is the cruise control not working on occasions. All I need to do is pull over, turn the engine off and restart.... fixes the problem.

Bit of a pain, but I cant be arsed to take it into the dealer.... will wait for its first service.

Other than that, happy so far....

mine has been very good mechanically for the months i have had it in which time i have done 7k. It was off the road for 3 months with an alarm fault which the dealer or the field engineer could not fix, it was sent to a specialist place and they sorted it within a week

For the money, i would be struggling to find a better car that can compare to power/mpg so im very happy with it

I had a few problems with my 2.2 sri, but my 1.9 has been largely faultless (now just over 30K), bar a servo motor going in the climate control (warranty fix). Other than that its been 100% and ive actually started to notice how nice and smooth it drives after getting in it from my astra.

Ive not heard of the flywheel problem? but the other common faults seem to be dying out now with less and less being asked about them on the forum.

Sorry to side track this topic but SPOONS, next time fault with cruise occurs just touch the brake and try again. If you don't touch the brake before using cruise it will not activate. If ya know this already, sorry to switch subjects.

Running my 1.9 with a tuning box and tow a caravan on occassion....

Absolutely no issues except cosmetic paint issues on the wheels (warranty replacement).

Done 10k in the last 10 months.

    Hope it helps.
