Default What performance mods would you reccomend??

My CDTi 120 is a cracking car, absolutely love it, just wish it had a bit more go.
What mods do you guys reccomend that wont knacker my car up and will make my little 120 go like a 150?
    Cheers guys.

    Trim : irmscher

    Engine : 2.0 cdti

    Year : 2009

Now i was reading that early 120's were the exact same as 150's but the ECU map was different as they couldn't keep up with demand they just fitted 120's with the 16v engine and adjusted the map not sure if this is true.
But i suppose best bet would be de-cat K&N and a tuning box or remap

This little lot would take you to about 160bhp and totally transform its drive, be about £400 for the exhaust, £40 for the K&N panel and anything from £250 to £500 for the remap (I personally wouldn't recommend a box).

I know I'm being boring and practical but its still the "family" car and would that lot make it any less reliable (my mrs uses it for work) and what would the difference be on the mpg as I currently get between 45 and 60?

Driven sensibly the mpg wouldn't really change, it may even go up.

As for being reliable, any performance mod has the potential of putting extra stress on componets, but those listed have a decent track record on the CDTi 120.

Awesome, right time to hammer the credit card then lol, any particular exhaust you'd reccomend? Sorry if I sound thick but I only do standard on modern cars. All my previous motors were old fords and I put them back to standard concours condition, Sad that I've never been a boy racer really I suppose but I'm getting the craving for power now lol.

Most custom exhaust places are fine, but due to your location MIJ would be the best for you, they have done loads on this site and are an approved trader too.

Am I better off with a panel filter than an induction kit and do I need to drill the airbox if I go down the panel filter route?

You will get better gains with a closed induction kit, but these can cost and £40 and a couple of mins work the panel filter is quick and easy, in addition to the air box mod too (removing the plastic trumpet part - obvious when you look inside the airbox) - no need to drill.
