Default Rear shocks - tools required???

Hi all, need to change my rear shocks rear drivers side is shot. I have asked a friend about changing them and he seems to think i need spring clamps for the rear - is this correct???
The car in question is the 2.2 sri dti 2003, i have had a quick look behind the wheel tonight & i cant even see the shock lol although light is fading as quick as my eye sight.
I have had a look at the how 2 and there is no mention of spring clamps, are there different setups across the range on the vec c?

    Cheers all.

No spring clamps are needed, as the shock is on its own, bolt at the top and bottom.

As said you won't need spring clamps but a set of torx sockets will make life alot easier

I'm about to do this too on my Signum (why are Vx shocks so crap?!)

I don't have any Torx sockets so will need to get some.
Do I need E18 & E20 to do this job?

    Cheers.

Guys, what shocks have you bought?
My Sri ones are shot on the back at 48,000miles!
Ive been looking at bilstein b4 or monroe ones.
I dont want to lower the car due to clearance issues on my drive so ging for standard ones again.
