    in a word no ....but

there are several options open to a larger turbo being fitted but most others are oil cooled rather than air as current - so additional mods would be requried - then you would need a remap to cope and possibly a larger intercooler to accomodate the turbo changes otherwise the lag would negate the gains - then you need to look at a new manifold and downpipe to help the car breath better a new air intake and then possibly new fuel pump and larger injectors then dependant on the gains futher mods to the engine /gearbox and suspension and brakes = how much of a gain are you looking for

try looking at the saab B207R (210 bhp variant of our engine) or the saab B207L same variant of our engine for some ideas - then you can look at the american series engine which has a supercharger rather than a turbo

have a look at one of my threads here for ideas

Supercharging is out of the question due to management issues and also the turbo's compression ratio is wrong for supercharging.

As deztroyer has said, look at the Saab Aero 210bhp turbocharger which would be pretty much a direct swap with the one you have. It's a Mitsubishi unit rather than the Garrat unit the Z20 NET has as standard.

Also as said you will need a re-map to suit. OK some will argue the standard turbo is good for 250bhp, but the Garratt Turbo is running flat out at this point and the standard injectors will be running right at their maximum duty cycle.

By fitting the Mitsy turbo and Saab Aero injectors, at 250bhp the set up will be running at a comfortable level with room more.

Interesting thread, Ive now been running my setup for a few months running over 250bhp looking for continuity. had a few minor faults but is working. car is cappable of approx 280bhp. ive done around 5k and having a service, looking at fitting a boost control setup to give the cars potential on demand. we will see??

Waddya mean Dez? Standard Garret turbo in Z20NET is water cooled, with obviously oil circulating around turbo for the lubrication as well as a bit of additional cooling.

Duncan watches in the background . Waiting for when an incorrect fact about the Z20NET surfaces in a thread.

PS, The standard Z20NET in the Vectra is 172ps.

    Where is he?
