My friend has a corsa that since last year has had a smell of fuel in the car, it has been checked and there is no leeks in the system and the fuel filler seal has been replaced does anyone have any idea what we could check?

Is it a petrol or diesel Paul and how old is it?
Its a petrol Gary and about 5 years.
If it has the old type of fuel hoses to the fuel pump, the rubber ones with the cotton or similar braiding on, they became very porous and leaked under pressure, but when you looked for leaks with the engine stopped everything appears dry. Change all them hoses, you may find that solves it.
To check them, squeeze them with forefinger and thumb whilst the engine is running. If they are shot, they should leak or get damp with fuel as you squeeze
Cheers Gary I'll give that a go on Friday when I'm back from Brum
Lmfao penfold
I had a gallon tank tip over and leak in my old car, it smelled of petrol on sunny days for absolutely ages. Traded it in eventually...
