Gearknob ball joint

Just got my astra vxr gearknob and it is identical to the standard one in my veccy. I am halfway through the swap, but I don't know how to get the ball out of its joint (connecting onto the shaft that goes into the gearbox). Looked in the haynes manual, but i'm not getting anywhere with it. Do any of you know how to seperate the ball and joint? Cheers, George

Just looked on TIS and it says that it all comes off together when changing the gear stick.

Can't find anything about seperating the ball and socket. Sorry mate

hold the joint if possible and twist the knob will just pop out just not alot of room in there, will be doing mine soon and have read the how2 on AON

Use a screwdriver to prise it off..........
