Default De badged the boot and im gutted.

Just spent nearly an hour de badging the rear of my Vectra only to find that there is a faint outline of the griffin left in the laquer.
Am i the only person who has encountered this and is there a fix.?
I have tryed rubbing it with a compound and polished it and it is still faintly there.
I really dont want to put the old badge back on as it looks so much cleaner without it.

Yeah. My badge was stuck like **** to a blanket.
Ended up using tar remover, thiners and a cutting compound.

Its like the outline of the badge has eaten in to the laquer.
