Default 2.0 dti increases revs then drops back when you stop

    Hi all,

we have a 2.0dti which is fitted in a Astra Coupe Mk4. The issue we have is that when you pull up the revs increase then drop back to idle. Any one have any ideas on this?

Thought I would ask on here as there are so many 2.o dti's in vectra C's

    Default

No diesel engines have idle control valves. Engine speed is increased by injecting more fuel into the engine.

When the vehicle is moving, the ECU increases the engine idle speed automatically. As the vehicle comes to a stop, the idle speed will slowly drop to normal. This is most noticeable when moving slowly in a traffic queue.

My Astra 2.0DTi always behaved this way.

Yes I believe you are correct but what mine does is the revs rise when you stop then drop back down. Someone has suggested the MAF so I am going to try and borrow one to see what happens
