Default Installed Cruise Control not working

    Hello,

I just installed cruise control on my car (2002 Vectra C 1.8 ZX18XE) and i did the following operations:

    1. Installed clutch switch
    2. Installed CC lever
    3. Activated CC in the Engine module with OP-COM
    4. Activated CC in the Instrument module with OP-COM

Is there any operations left or i have to activate it with TECH 2 only.
    Please Help. Thanks!

Tech2 !!! never use opcom to program

You need to get tech2 and reset CIM and then program stalk's/Key afaik ,if you install a new stalk its the only way to get it to work

You have missed out a step, you need to do the coding in the CIM module as well as the engine and instruments. Go into the variant programming screen, change cruise control to "present" and country code to "great britain".

You may also need to install a clutch switch if you don't already have one.

If you have the proper op-com (called vaux-com in this country), there is no problem with using it to activate cruise. I have done this for lots of people with Astra H's/Zafira B's and it has worked every time.

I personally wouldn't trust the op-com units bought on ebay. The real thing costs £700 for a reason (and is very good value compared to tech2). Have heard a few stories of weird results after doing programming with ebay op-coms and have had a bad experience myself with my old car, hence buying the genuine one.

There is no cruise control option in my CIM variant programming screen so i can't change it to present, strange... i admit, i don't have the £700 tool unfortunatelly... so should i go to the dealer tu use their Tech 2 tool?

in the UK it was only the entry level Expression model that didn't have it as standard, and that was discontinued as no-one bought it. It was fitted as the Vectra was mainly a motorway mile-munching company/hire car which would spend it's life doing 70...
