I picked up my sprakly new glow plugs from motor factor ready to fit them, being really really worried about snapping it after having snapped a spark plug in a Ka last year on my girlfriends car.
I went to halfords and bought a set of deep sockets for £7.99 (BARGAIN)
got home and when the engine was still hot i decided this was the best time to do it as the thread in the head would be expanded a little and it would allow the WD40 to soke a bit.

Gently gently tried to undo those dreadid ****** plugs and the first one (guess what) yes you guessed it lol it flew out after all that worry

I hear you asking yourself why ami crying?
Well the one that came out was about6"long and the new one was about 4"long SODDING MOTOR FACTORS CANT GET IT RIGHT DAM THEM!!!!!!!

so went back to motor factors and they have to order me some but on the good side at least they didn't snap on me in fact i felt they came out really easy!

I must admit when I done the glow plugs on my CDTI it was a bit of the old 5p/10p.

Sprayed a bit of Plusgas on the base of the glow plugs 2 days prior whilst the engine was cold. Then waited til the wife got back from work and the engine was v hot, had to use gloves to remove the leads. All 4 loosened off easy, so went for a cuppa whilst the engine cooled then replaced 'em.

Prefer Plusgas to WD40, Plusgas is a specific penetrating oil whilst WD is a water dispersant (hence WD)

I always put a bit of copper slip round the threads when I put new ones in to help get them out next time, just remember this saying guys, it'll stand you in good stead for the rest of your lives, "THERE'S ALWAYS TIME FOR A BIT OF LUBE"

Even though the one ones i had where wrong so had to put old ones back in, i used the trusty copper slip on the old ones
