Loss of power issue (1.9CDTi SRi 150BHP, Vectra C)

The wife was driving her 1.9CDTi SRi 190 BHP Vectra yesterday and the car lost power?
It has happened again a couple of times today and it happens when the car is under 2000 RPM, but not all the time? The car will then move along slowly in whatever gear it is in and then it "spurts" into life?
The car goes back, again, to Arnold Clark tomorrow as it is still under the 30 day warranty.Problem is, we know nothing about cars and I would appreciate any advice members could give me to say to them when we go tomorrow.

Have checked the forums for this problem and I see a lot of talk about EGR units etc etc etc.

I've been doing more research and have found that a warning light tends to come on if the Vectra is losing power due to an EGR fault? My car isn't doing this?

An EGR fault will make the Engine Management light come On.

Strange then that the car is obviously losing power at times, but no management lights are coming on?
I've been trawling through thread after thread and can't see any previous posts that are exactly the same as mine?

It's likely to be the EGR mine did this with no management light but the swirl valves went at the same time so it was difficult to blame the EGR alone. Strangely enough yours is in the potential duff swirl valves 30 day warranty take it back quick complain about the danger of loosing power.

Cheers, the car goes in tomorrow so i'll hear what they have to say. I'll definitely complain about the dangers of losing power.
